Privacy Policy & Content Declarations
This page contains the official data protection guidelines, security standards, and content sharing ratings for the VaultIn digital vault application.
User Content Sharing Declaration
For Transparency, safety ratings, and App Store guidelines, we disclose VaultIn's features regarding social interactions and content sharing. Toggle below to view the specifications and security implications.
1. Introduction
Welcome to VaultIn ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal credentials, documents, and media remain strictly confidential.
This Privacy Policy outlines how VaultIn handles data, what information is stored, and explains why we designed the application without user-to-user sharing or online collaboration utilities.
By using VaultIn, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.
2. Local Security Architecture
Unlike traditional cloud storage databases, VaultIn is developed on a local-first philosophy. This architectural decision guarantees absolute confidentiality:
- AES-256 Local Encryption: All items in your vault—including passwords, secret notes, bank accounts, and photos—are encrypted directly on your device using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a 256-bit key.
- Zero-Knowledge Principle: Your encryption keys are derived from your Master Password. We do not store your Master Password on any servers, and we have no technological ability to recover it or decrypt your data.
- Biometric Lock: VaultIn integrates native biometric APIs (FaceID or Fingerprint) to unlock the database locally. Your biometric data is handled by the operating system and is never processed or read by VaultIn.
3. Data Collection Policy
Because VaultIn is designed to run offline and locally, we collect minimal personal data.
A. Personal Information
We do not require you to create an account with us to use VaultIn. No email address, name, or phone number is gathered during app startup.
B. Cryptographic & Vault Data
All passwords, usernames, URLs, card numbers, and files stored inside VaultIn are saved strictly in the encrypted local sqlite database or local storage folders. We do not transmit this data to our systems.
C. Device Permissions
To supply primary functionalities, VaultIn requests the following permissions, which can be enabled or disabled anytime:
- Camera/Gallery Access: Required only to let you attach pictures, scan QR codes, or import documents into your secure vault.
- Biometrics: Required to enable fast biometrics-based unlocking.
- Storage Write/Read: Needed to export secure database backups or import external keys.
4. User Content Rules
As stated in our Content Sharing Declaration, VaultIn:
- Does not offer chat rooms, voice communications, message boards, or file exchanges.
- Does not publish, index, or distribute user-generated files to any network directories.
- Does not have moderators or content filters because all vaults are strictly local. You are sole custodian and master of your saved information.
Your encrypted backups, if configured via Google Drive or iCloud sync, are stored directly within your private cloud credentials, encrypted with your keys, invisible even to cloud providers.
5. Advertising & Analytics
VaultIn may utilize third-party SDKs to fund ongoing development and monitor quality metrics:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Non-intrusive advertisements may be presented in free versions of the application. AdMob might use device identifiers (like IDFA on iOS or AAID on Android) to deliver relevant ad content. For more information, please read the Google Privacy Policy.
- Telemetry & Crash Reporting: We may gather anonymous performance reports (such as memory usage or crash logs) via services like Firebase Crashlytics to optimize application performance. These reports do not include any decrypted vault contents or credentials.
6. Contact & Rights
Under various global data protection laws (such as GDPR in Europe and CCPA in California), you possess certain rights regarding your personal information. Since all vault items are saved on your hardware:
- Access & Portability: You can export your entire database from the VaultIn settings panel at any time.
- Rectification & Deletion: You can update or completely wipe your data by resetting the app or deleting it. Once deleted, your encrypted vault is permanently gone.
